"Mrs Baines Joan" had best take some English grammar and writing lessons if she seriously wants to snare anybody with a room temp IQ.

As it is, it reads like it was translated from the Ukrainian language by a native Hawaiian speaker.

This is a Nigerian 419 scam. The people recruited to compose and send these scam emails are not always familiar with North American names and locations, nor are they well versed in common terminology used in our daily functions.

While is causes scam-aware people to chuckle, keep in mind that many clueless folks are taken in by these scammers. That is why I and other spam hunters report this type of email scam to SpamCop.

It was just 5 years ago when I became involved with protecting the SGF against a flood of Nigerian 419 scammers. Quite a few of our own members fell victim to their trickery. With the help of various members who forwarded Nigerian scam emails to me - as attachments - I was able to begin compiling what became known as the Nigerian Blocklist. I still update that list occasionally, as new IP addresses are used by otherwise unemployed Nigerian youth and criminal Ex-patriots of Nigeria.

Lately, I have blocked a huge block of IP addresses in Kenya, where many 419 scammers have taken refuge. You see, every now and then the Nigerian Police crack down on the Internet Cafes where the scammers work their trade. When arrested, these poor Mugus are charged with violation of Article 419 of the Nigerian Penal Code: Advance Fee Fraud.

I encourage all SGF members who receive any obvious, or suspected Nigerian 419 advance fee fraud scam to "forward as attachment" that email to me. Attaching it, rather than just quoting it, preserves the valuable email headers, without which the message cannot be traced. A simply forwarded scam message cannot be traced, thus is a waste of time for all involved. Please review the sticky topics at the top of this forum to learn about forwarding email as an attachment.

If the signatures at the bottom of some of those messages confuse you, I and Bobby D. Hunter are one and the same person.

For those members who wish to send me Nigerian 419 scams for tracing, I require them to either be sent as forwarded attachments, or else you must display the full headers or source code, then select all, copy them and paste them into an email that you then send to me. To assist those not familiar with these procedures there is a sticky topic about displaying the headers of scam emails for reporting, at the top of this forum.
