Can someone give me info. on how I can remove this program from my System ? I am running Windows XP Home

Should I just forget about removing it ? Don't want to stir up PC trouble that I am too computer stupid to fix !
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all folks on the forum !

John:
I did a brief search with Google and found these 2 suggestions. I can't say if they will work, but you might try:
Method 1:
• Search for 'netwait' with the Windows search function
• If you find a copy of Netwaiting in a folder such as C:\drivers, go to that folder. If not, I can't help...
• In the folder you should find Setup.exe. Right click it and choose 'create shortcut'
• Right-click on the shortcut you just created and choose 'Properties'. Find the box which says 'Target'. Position the cursor at the end of the line where it says '.exe', and add a space followed by '-uninstall'.
• The 'target' box should now read '.....\setup.exe -uninstall'.
• Click OK and double-click the shortcut. The install program should load and ask you if you want to completely remove everything. Click yes and you're done You can now delete the shortcut.
Method 2:
Go to MSConfig [click start > click run > type in MSCONFIG] Click on Startup Tab > Click the Disable All button. Close MSconfig, click restart. After restarting you can click never show this message again, go to add/remove programss and it will uninstall, then go back to msconfig and click enable all (or enable what ever you need to).

Bill ,
Thanks for the site ! I'll check it out !
That program is a real tough one to get rid of ! I might decide to leave there ! It does not take up any space or interfear with anything !
I am pretty much a PC dummy and afraid to get into some areas that I cannot get out of or understand --especially the registry area ! I run the other way when I hear that name called !
Thanks for taking time to send the advise ! Have a great 2011 !

John;
In order to help you remove Netwaiting we need to know the brand and model of the computer and the 56k modem originally included with it.
Next, we need to know if you have found netWaiting.exe in a folder under Program Files, or under Windows? If it is in C:\Program Files\NetWaiting\netWaiting.exe, it is probably legitimate. Uninstalling the modem hardware should also uninstall the Netwaiting software.
Uninstall the modem via Control Panel > Add/Remove Hardware. Locate the 56k (V90) modem and select the right click option Uninstall. Answer yes to all screens, one of which is usually netWaiting.
If netwaiting.exe is in C:\Windows, or C:\Windows\System32, it is probably a virus.

Net waiting
Wiz ,
Thanks for your advise ! here are the answers you requested :
1 Dell -- Windows XP -Home
2. model :Dimension 3000-- Pentium 4 Processor
3. Did find the program under Windows program files
4. Went to add/ remove program -found 56 K modum removed it ! ( Did not see any options come up to answer "yes" to !
Net Waiting still shows up on control panel .
When I click on remove the following box always comes up :
"an installation support file could not be installed
/Cannot find file specified "
That is how the matter stands-- currently !
Thanks as always Wiz for all the help you give to the forum members .If it gets too complcated to remove--I may have to let it " be " since I am mostly a computer dummy !!!

Let's stop it from trying to start. Go to Start > Run and type in MSCONFIG then press ENTER. A configuration box opens. Go to the Startup tab and look for an entry for netWating. If exists, uncheck it. Click Apply, then OK. Then, when the dialog box appears about one of the startup items being disabled, check the box to not display that notice again and apply it. Reboot and the netWaiting SysTray icon should be gone.
