Is there such thing as a FireWire to USB cable?

The adapters I've tried don't work so I was wondering if there exists a cable with firewire (6-pin) on one end and USB on the other. Or even a hub with a USB connection. Thanks for any info.

I don't think such cables exist as they are entirely different protocols.

You might be able to use a passive hub.

Or maybe an internal adapter card like something from this category:
