The other day there was a story on several of the websites about a recently released Navy report on malware and spyware. I followed the links and downloaded the report.
Interestingly enough, I have two monitors running, and I keep Process Explorer (from Microsoft, free download) running in the 2nd screen just to monitor for funny things happening.
When I went to the download link, two instances of some "Control Panel" processes popped up in Process Explorer and quickly disappeared. Most unusual for a website. One of the most recent attack vectors has to do with a weakness in control panel.
Maybe the feds are fishing?
Either that or the Russkies are "modifying" high value high traffic websites to include their own brand of greeting cards.
