There is a scam being distributed via spam emails that tricks recipients into thinking that it was sent from Adobe. It claims that you need to upgrade your PDF Reader and uses Adobe's own graphics. If you click on the link you end up on an affiliate marketer's website, where they are selling a program called PDF2010, or similar name.
Do not be fooled by the similar names in the links in the spam messages. The include the name Adobe, but not Adobe.com/.
The following domains have been seen in similar scam messages:
adobe-software-upgrade . com
adobe-software-2010 . com
adobe-software-download . com
adobe-acrobat-software . com
adobe-acrobat-sofware . com
These domains all redirect to pdf-new-2010-download.com, which tries to sign you up with your credit card, to purchase their program.
Adobe's PDF Reader is one of the largest targets of exploit kits, second only to Oracle's Java technology. Adobe Reader now contains an automatic updater, which you should make sure is enabled. Reader should only be obtained and updated from domains at adobe.com/ ... not adobe-reader-scamsite.com
