Mozilla has updated their Firefox browser to version 3.6.11, on the evening of October 19, 2010. This version contains 9 security fixes, 5 of which are rated Critical. There are also several stability fixes.
Automatic updates are being pushed out now, Oct 20. If you haven't received an automatic update notice, use the manual method to update the browser.
To update manually, go to the menu item Help, then down to Check for updates and click on it. An update checker will pop open and tell you that a new version is available and ask if you want to download it. Do so, then click to install the new version. Firefox will have to close and restart to complete the upgrade. If you have more than the one Firefox browser open and wish to save open tabs, close all be the main browser.
If for some reason you are unable to get the updater to take, download the new full version of Firefox, then close the browser and install the new version over the old one.
