Hi Roy, I found this. Click Here but I'm sure someone with more knowledge than I will chime in soon.

Thanks Andy! I went to the site and installed
Perfect Optimizer. After I ran it I got a report
as follows:

Problems fixed
10 registry errors
10'0 MB Junkk files cleaned
3 invalid file associations
7 internet settings fixed

Problems remaining
951 registry errors
18 Privacy data
1.0 GB junk files
1 Registry errors
5 performance feature.

I have to register to get things cleaned
up permanently. Cost os $13.97 cut back from
100.00. ( Quite a discount)

Does anyone know another way?

Is the above a good way to go??

I am in the dark on this as to what to do.

Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.

A stack overflow means that some app you're running is using all the memory that's been allocated to it. Wiz could probably tell you what do do about it.

windowsexpert.us looks a little fishy to me. It's registered with GoDaddy, which isn't a good sign, and it's only been up since Jan of this year and expires Jan of next year, which is also very suspicious. Legit sites usually register for longer than one year. Here's some discussion.

I would unstall that one immediately and run Malwarebytes Anti Malware to make sure you haven't been corrupted. I agree with Cal, That one looks a little suspicious to me.

Here is one that is Reputable and it will clean everything up while you are on the trial and it will allow you to keep the changes after the trial has expired.

I've been using auslogics Products for several years now and they have some excellent products, some of them free.

Don't know how much ram you have installed, However there isn't a software cure for not having enough memory.

Most registry "cleaners" or programs that "speed up" the PC are not really needed or they "fix" things that do not really need "fixing". I've seen a lot of problems that were caused by these.

If a PC is in that bad shape that the registry is screwed up, etc, it's time for a complete reinstall.

The only Registry cleaner I ever use, or recommend, is Ccleaner. It is primarily a temporary file and tracks cleaner. But, it has an excellent Reg cleaner section, as well as a program uninstaller tool. Best of all, it is totally free (donations welcome).

Always save backups before allowing any Registry tool to remove keys or values. Registry cleaners are capable of rendering your PC unbootable. Windows XP, Vista and 7 have an option to restore the last known good configuration during the boot process, if you hit F8 before Windows tries to load. You may need that option if you hose your Registry!

Is it possible to identify the application and
correct it??

I DeInstalled Perfect Optomizer. Installed
Auslogics and ran it. It did a complete scan
deleted old files, internet and tenporary files
but would not address the Registry with the
trial download.

Wiz, I cannot find the Ccleaner you mention?

Thanks for all the help.

I am still confused :?

Ccleaner can be downloaded here:

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/help

It is pretty conservative about the registry errors it finds.

"Fixing" the registry errors may not fix your stack overflow. I'd try to track down processes or running applications when the stack overflow error pops up, but I have never had that type of error.

Stay away permanently from any so called fix or software download that asks for money. You are better off doing a complete reinstall than getting involved with that stuff.

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open Task Manager to see what programs are running.

One of your programs has an error in it that's causing an infinite loop, allocating a small amount of stack memory with each iteration until all of its allotted memory is used up. Task Manager can help you figure out which program it is, and terminate it.

Task manager may show a task hogging the CPU. System Idle Process should show plus 90% if you're not doing anything.

I had a virus in spoolsv service. Spoolsv (the task) would slowly build to 95%+ of CPU time. Had to disable the task to get the machine to run fast enough to timely offload a few Gig of files before I stepped on the OS and rebuilt WinXP.

You can't beat this app for displaying all the goodies about what your CPU is up to...
