What Is 'Storage.Conduit' ??

Post by richard burton »

This has appeared recently in my computers history file, is it spyware ?

My computer has been used recently by other members of my family, who don't think security is much of an issue, and consider me paranoid over it

I've just used C Cleaner to wipe everything, and then logged in to Google.

I immediately looked at 'history', and there were two sites that came up straight away:

flixster.conduit-apps(flixster.conduit-apps.com)

and

storage.conduit (storage.conduit.com)

If its spyware/malware, how do I get rid of them ?

Google shows 36,800 hits for the term; none of them flattering.

Possibly related to a toolbar, possibly an Active X control, possibly malware.

Nothing good can come of it, so I would run the usual scans.

Storage.conduit.com is reportedly a dodgy website.

Run malwarebytes or superantispyware.

Found it :D

It's something to do with the Zone Alarm toolbar, which for some reason has loaded onto my computer.

I've disabled it

You do have the option of setting up separate profiles for each user (login and pwd). Then you can restrict their ability to download and install programs. Then when they try to do it again they will get a message saying they do not have permission to complete that action.
