Check your yahoo mail account, they may have changed the spam filtering and you may also have to change a setting for your account's spam filter.

The operating system and Internet Explorer and Anti-virus have nothing to do with the yahoo mail account or their spam filter since it's a "web based" e-mail account.

Yahoo spam filter works better if you train it as they suggest. That means marking spam in your inbox. Even more important I think is looking in the spam filter and marking "not spam" as needed.

Chip;
Jolynyk is using is browser to read email. MailWasher does not work with browser-based email, only POP3 desktop clients.

@Jolynyk;
SInce you use Yahoo as your email service and are doing so via a web browser, consider changing to Windows Live Mail, a POP3 desktop email client, with MailWasher Pro filtering incoming mail. You would need to upgrade to Yahoo Plus, which is a paid email service, going for $19.99 for a whole a year. It allows POP3 desktop access to send and receive Yahoo email.

Windows Live Mail (WLM) and MailWasher Pro both have built in learning and configurable junk filters and blacklists. MailWasher uses custom made spam filters, which I write and publish. My filters detect almost all incoming spam and either automatically or manually deletes it before I download it to my desktop email program. The only time spam gets through is when WLM runs an automatic check after 8 hours, which I cannot seem to stop, despite trying many suggestions. Any spam sitting in the MailWasher program, that I didn't notice, is downloaded at that time. This would never happen if I could find a way to stop WLM from ever checking for mail without me pushing the Sync button.
