Sharing Video Files.
Is there a way to share video clips with friends without posting them on You-Tube or something of that ilk? I'm talking about short clips I have filmed myself.

YouTube has privacy settings. Might work for what you want to do. You can also email them to your friends, if they're under 10MB or so.

Ditto on the suggestion to use YouTube privacy settings.Archie Nicol wrote:Is there a way to share video clips with friends without posting them on You-Tube or something of that ilk? I'm talking about short clips I have filmed myself.

I used to eschew YouTube due to all the truly unwatchable stuff there. I erroneously concluded that YouTube intentionally was reducing the quality of uploaded videos to conserve server capacities. I was wrong. People were simply uploading poor quality videos.
The issue one very quickly discovers with trying to share multimedia with others is file sizes. Even short videos can be large enough that they're unwieldy to email, and the recipient of such files must wait till the file downloads to load and view it. Using YouTube, the video will stream, and it's much easier to deal with in every respect. Plus you get some statistical usage data.
I've been very pleased with the way YouTube has handled the videos I've uploaded, and the quality has turned out fine. It's the way to go.
