Apogge support can't play an on-line video

Post by basilh »

Why would someone not be able to play this video ?
Can anyone help ? PLEASE.
I sent this video of a fault to Apogee support and they replied asking BASIC questions that would have been answered had they watched the video.
Support says the video displays a question mark and they can't play it.
Is it their computer configuration ?

The video requires Apple Quicktime to play it back. I do have Quicktime installed in Firefox and I am able to listen to the movie, but the video keeps breaking up, to the point that it is intolerable to watch.

I am on high speed broadband and this is very unusual.

Windows XP SP3.

I'm on a stock iMac 27" and it plays fine without breakup using Safari. Pretty odd that Apogee is having a difficult time - considering they make products specifically for Mac - I'd have thought they would have souped-up Macs for sure.

I installed the DirectShow Codec from free-codecs.com and am now able to play the video. Your Rosetta seems to be going into a feedback loop. I think it may have a loose interstage coupling capacitor or resistor that is semi-detached from its solder joint.
