Speakers ??
I have a subwoofer system on my Dell and one of the little guys bit the dust. I've been trying to find replacement speakers to plug into the sub but it looks like I have to buy the whole speaker system. Is this true?? Need some info!! I'm computer illiterate!! Thanks, Loren.

Why not buy a set ->HERE
If all ya need is one of the
satellite speakers, have 'em
trash the heavy subwoofer
to save on shipping costs.

FYI, just because you have a Dell
computer doesn't mean that you
must use a Dell speaker system.
You might check out other
computer speaker systems at
any electronics/computer place.
Most often they will have perhaps
eight to a dozen different systems
on display and you can listen
and compare.

The "sub woofer" in a 2.1 computer speaker system is the main componenet and houses the power amp, etc. If any of the the speakers goes out, the sub woofer or a satellite speaker in almost every case it's time for a new speaker system. Speakers are not made to be repaired and in most cases if you could get it repaired it would cost as much or more than a new speaker system. If the system is still in warranty, call Dell Support and they will replace the entire system (they don't have parts either).
I do a lot of support on the Dell users forum and in every case where someone has a failure in a speaker system (and it's not in warranty) the response is "go buy a new speaker system".
You can get a new Analog powered computer speaker system just about any place - on line at stores such as www.newegg.com (where I buy most of my computer parts) to many Wal-Mart's.
