Looking for a good quality dependable printer/copier

Hi guys, I have a couple questions :

What are the steps to defragment Windows XP;

And what would be a good solid, reliable inkjet printer/copier that will print light weight card
stock ? The one I have now has the "U-turn" feed,
and paper always gets fed in crooked, even with 20 lb paper. I want to replace it with something I can depend on better. I'm looking to spend around
$150 - $200. I normally just print letters or a photograph; nothing heavy-duty . ..

Assuming you are operating as an Administrator account, or know how to Run As an Administrator, go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > and click on "Disk Defragmenter." When the Defrag window opens, highlight the drive letter you wish to defrag and press the "Defragment" button.

I don't know if any of the current inkjets on the shelves have a straight feed, so I'll defer to someone who has one. Or, visit your local office supply or Best Buy store and see what they have with a straight feed system or attachment (usually on the rear).

Note, most (color & B&W) laser printers usually have straight feed trays available as an option, or standard feature.

Look at the new Epson "Artisan" model all in ones. They have two paper feed trays - one in the front for regular paper (and 24 lb is what I use and it feeds fine) and they also have a rear paper feed which is more direct (does not curve around the print head). That allows having two different weights of paper (or photo in one and regular paper in the other).

The Epson Artisan's will also print directly on CD's and DVD's.

Next printer I buy will first have been researched to death on the ink cartridge costs, color AND black as well!

My current HP DeskJet 832 has been flawless in almost 10 years of use but I know I've spent 10 times its original cost just in ink!

Not much help so please forgive my mini-rant!

There are some cheap ones now. I just bought a Brother MFC-295CN for $79. It does print/copy/scan/fax and its scanner has both flatbed and document feeder. I ordered 5 ink carts, 2 black and the 3 colors, online for $10.13 shipped.

I represent 123Inkjets on my website and they have very reasonable prices for both new compatible and remanufactured ink cartridges. I use them in my HP 5610 AIO printer.
