Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465)

Post by Jon Light (deceased) »

This update came up---it is dated 6/30/09 but was not present before. Some odd things happened with my update manager before this appeared (I was trying to eliminate the reminder to download IE8....I think successfully).

Is there anything I should know or be wary of before authorizing the download of SP2?

Jon:

For what it's worth, I updated to SP2 without any incidents about 5 days ago.

But I think I got at it directly at Microsoft (downloaded it to my hard drive and then installed it from there), rather than through Windows Update.

SP2 has basically been "uneventful". The only posts about it on the Dell users forum are from people wondering about it, not from anyone that installed it and had a problem.

I have I.E.8 installed on my desktop and laptop and no problems with it either. Same way on the Dell users forum.

Ditto. Happy with it.
