Now, with Mozilla......
Every time I open it, I get a box that asks what I want to do with this bookmark? I don't want to do anything. I want to select the bookmark I want. Now I have to re-click bookmarks so the box will go away, then I have to click it again to get the drop down box.
How do I turn this useless thing off?

Ken;
That makes no sense at all. What is the URL and website that belongs to the mystery bookmark?
When did this start happening?

Try going into Options, which I think is under "Tools" on Windows, then in the "Main" tab click on the button marked "restore default".
Like Wiz I'm stumped as to what's actually going on. Try to type out exactly what the message says. You mean you get this message as soon as you launch Firefox, right?

What happens is after I launch Firefox and click bookmarks, this box comes up that asks if I want to delete this bookmark. It only seems to do it randomly, or when I open it in the morning. I rebooted before I got on firefox, but it didn't come up again.
When it does it again I'll do a print screen so I can publish it here and you can see it. Thanks.

OK. I was at this log cabin site. I was finished with it and ready to go to another bookmarked site. I clicked on bookmarks and the box to the right top came up. No, I do not want to bookmark this page. No, I don't even want to be asked to bookmark this site. I want to continue to the bookmarks drop down. Just go away and leave me alone.

Here is another. I started Mozilla. I clicked on bookmarks. This is what came up. As you can see there is only bookmark to click. There is no save this bookmark available to click on. Besides this one says would I like to edit this. Doesn't happen all the time.
No biggie, just annoying.

Ken, although in Internet Explorer the star means "open my bookmarks", in Firefox it means "add this bookmark to 'unfiled'". If it's there, then you get the menu to edit or remove it.
You open your list of bookmarks in Firefox by clicking on Bookmarks in the menu bar.
There are other ways: if you right click on one of the toolbars in Firefox and hit Customize you can add a button like the one you're looking for. Also you can hit Ctrl+B or Ctrl+Shift+B.
If I am understanding this right then you should hit Ctrl+B and navigate to "Unfiled Bookmarks" since you probably have a few in there that you don't mean to.

Thanks John. I don't recall clicking on the star, but I see what you mean. I've always clicked on the menu bar bookmark. I didn't know about the unfiled bookmarks however. I will check that out.Being as the box only comes up once every so often, it must be something I'm doing wrong at that time.
Thanks for the help.

The newer versions of Firefox have a place called "Unfiled Bookmarks". They don't show up in the bookmarks menu, only the "sidebar" (Ctrl+B) or "library" (Ctrl+Shift+B). Frankly it's a little weird but it's nice if you are going through a lot of articles and want to bookmark some for later without worrying where to put them. You just click the star.
I think the main reason for doing this is that Firefox 3 you can search for bookmarks right in the address bar. Anything with a star next to it in the list that comes up is a bookmark. Anything without one is from your history.
