After viewing all of the clips... I like his tone on the Stringmaster way more than his tone on the Fender pedal steel, or dare I say, on the Emmons p/p. Maybe it's because of the style he's playing (Hawaiian and swing), or maybe it's the amp he's using, but the sound of the Stringmaster is much fuller and more pleasing to my ear.

Doug, I agree with you about the string master tone it was chubby and clean. As for the Emmons I noticed the neck selection switch was in the "up" position making both necks ready to play. Perhaps this why the tone was so thin. Don D.

Perhaps the sound was not up to par due to the sound technicians on the LWS not having a clue how to mike a steel guitar.
