Post by Paul Norman (RIP) »

How can I copy a song from a DVD and save it to audio MP3?

There are programs around to do that, but I don't know if there are any "legal" ones. Most commercial DVD's are copy protected.

You could take the output of the PC's audio and record it on an external cassette recorder. Then play the tape and "record" it to the PC and get an MP3 that way. This doesn't require any additional software.

For a Mac there's an app called WireTap that records all audio coming from your sound card, like when you're playing a CD/DVD. Don't know about Windoze, but Audacity might work.

It MAY work, but only if the PC Audio has the "what you hear" (system mixer) capability. However, DRM (Digital Rights Management) may still not let you record, if it's a copy protected DVD - it gets sticky.
