forum won't remember me

Post by Matthew Walton »

Hey Y'all.
All of a sudden, whenever I come to this very forum, I look up to where it has all your stuff (Private Messages, Profile, etc.), and it will say that I am not logged in. So I log back in, and check the "Remember Me" box, and go on my merry way.
But the next time I come here, it will say that I am not logged in again! Not extremely terrible, but still a nuisance.
BTW, I am using Firefox 3.
Thanks, Matt.

I seem to have the same problem. Although Firefox is set to accept cookies from this site, there are three listed, 2 of which expire at 'end of session' and the other expires tomorrow night. I have it set to 'keep until they expire', but don't know what determines the expire date. Those expired cookies taste a little funny, but probably better than some other stuff in my refrigerator.

I checked my Firefox cookies for the SGF and have the same three as Craig, but, the last one expires on Jan 7, 2010. I have no trouble logging in automatically. If Craig's or other members forum cookie is really set to expire today/tomorrow, it should be deleted. After deleting the expired cookie come back and type in your credentials to log in. This will set a new cookie. Also, tell Firefox to Remember the login details for this site, in the yellow information bar that now appears over a page with a login box.

I don't know if this is what you meant Wiz, but I deleted the 2 that expire when I close Firefox, and then it started working!

Yes, that is what I meant for you to do. I'm glad it worked.
