Great stuff. The rest of the band "Country Boys" left to right Joel Price Elec bass, Howard Roetin elec guitar, "Spider Wislon elec. guitar, "The Big E" and Johnny Johnson. What a great group they were. I wish they could stayed together a little longer. They did leave us some wonderful recorded music, both backing "little" Jim and some great instrumental music as well. What a group. Bobby

Tater has a pic of himself when he was in Wichita many years ago, standing on about 8 wooden pop cases shaving. He looks like a 6 year old trying to shave, what a hoot. We left a pair of his custom boots at a hotel one time, noticed it after we had driven 300 miles. We had to turn around and go back and get them.

Dicken's "I'm Coming Over Tonight" was cut 8/15/56 when Emmons was 19 years old. Between '56 and '65 Emmons recorded 34 sides with Dickens including "We Could," "Me and My Big Loud Mouth," "Big Sandy," "Life Turned Her That Way" plus 4 instrumentals: "Red Wing,"Country Boy Bounce," "Buddie's Boogie" and "Raisin' The Dickens."
Emmons was only on the Country Boy Band for less than a year. 10 months into the gig, Dickens disbanded when he quit the Opry to join the Phillip Morris package show tour which had an in house band. Emmons describes his Bigsby as a triple 8, 5-6 pedals, flip out ashtray, two wheels on the back legs with his name inlaid on the front panel. (Notes from Dickens box set & "Steel Guitar Jazz/Four Wheel Drive" LP)
