Can Mot Play Steel Radio on Windows Media Player

Post by Pat Carlson »

WE have a brand new computer with windows vista. I love this system as it is fast as lightning and has many neat features :) One drawback however is the audio player will not play Steel Radio from Scottys Music. It says it is uncapable of playing this type of file.
Steel Radio wants to "Give me something" called WinAmp. THE WORMBLASTER on my new computer says be careful this is how worms will attack and kill your new system
What do you beleive? :x
I would like to listen to steel radio but I want to keep control of my new system and keep unwanted worms out! :(

I've been using WinAmp to listen to Steel Radio for several years. No problems with malware, worms, etc.

Media Player Classic will play the .pls playlist files used by Steel Radio. It is available for free at from www.free-codecs.com.

Once you install MPC you must assign the files you want it to play, by default, including .pls files. To do this open the player, then click on View > Options > Formats and scroll through the format list, checking the file types you want associated with this player. Click Apply, then OK and you should be good to go.
