I have been sitting on a pile of LPs from the 50s & 60s that I couldn't play anymore because my stereo system bit the dust years ago. The other day I was in Costco and purchased a USB Turntable device that converts LPs to digital files. You can then burn CDs from the converted files for your own, non-commercial use or simply listen to them on your computer. The sytem is very affordable (I paid approx $125.00) and it works beautifully. I'm in heaven listening to the oldies again. Here's a link to the manufacturers web site. The model I have is the ION TTUSB.
