Hey guys.........what do you say?
The JERRY BYRD-FAN CLUB.com once again finds itself with a dilema of gigantic proportions and I'm desperately needing some direction.
When the JBFC started out about five years ago, it was operated entirely from own Dell Computer, established with Front Page. I was able to install new songs every couple of weeks and new, updated text whenever it was appropriate. But my computer guru went south and became less and less reliable.
I found another local fellow who changed everything all around then he walked out before the job was completed. I was left without 'insider' instructions for working with his new set-up.
THANK GOODNESS a wonderful fellow in Nashville stepped up and helped me get things rolling once again. Considerable alterations were made to the site and the key ingrediants of the site slowly slipped away from my control and I became more dependent on someone else for nearly every move.
This fine gentleman has has recently moved to Memphis and has new employment that is keeping him away from this computer and thus, he's been unable to do the necessary updates and changes on the site that are needed.
I can do some things on the computer, but by no stretch am I a wizard. I can follow directions extremely well as I did the first couple of years.
Might any of you out there know of anyone on the FORUM or elsewhere that could help me keep the JERRY BYRD - FAN CLUB.com on the internet? I'm doing this for LOVE, in an effort to keep Jerry's music out there for the world to hear and enjoy as well as learn from. I don't have a lot of money (Social Security and part-time job) but have managed to handle the minimum charges that have been deemed necessary.
ANY SUGGESTIONS? Any volunteers? Any help?
Please let me hear from you........

I've always enjoyed your posts thus I feel the urge to contribute a couple of cents worth of thought to your dilemma.
Why not, first, contact those forum members who already maintain their own sites? You've seen them dozens of times, I'm sure. Secondly, you could re-post this under "Computers" and probably get a wealth of information from a bunch of folks who are really into the technology.
Sorry I can't supply anything concrete for you to chew on but I view myself as someone who knows just enough to be dangerous and not much help to others when it comes to all things in cyberspace.
Respectfully,
Richard
