Back to Mac .....

Post by James Quackenbush »

I started my computer use with a Mac many years ago ....I ran mac's for years , but needed a computer to run a Sample program that I wanted badly ...I had a few PC computers made for me to deal with a sample program that I have been using that was only made for PC ...It's Gigastudio ...I have a BUNCH of samples for this program , so I had a couple of PC's built for the program and samples along with a bunch of hard drives ....Every additional program that I loaded into the PC to use with Gigastudio had to be registered with challenge and response , so no matter how hard I tried , I had to put these computers online ...I was CONSTANTLY getting spammed, crap mail, and popups and soon realizd that I had to have a complete arsenal of tools on the PC just to keep it safe .....I finally took it off line as I was tired of dealing with all the crap .....I recently bought an I-Mac and in the words of John Denver " Gee it's good to be back home again " .......Tascam is no longer dealing with GigaStudio ....GOOD RIDDENS PC !!!......Jim

James,
I've heard similar stories about MS. My daughter went to MAC and she loves it, especially compared to MS.

Steve,
Though I like Linux too, what applications are you using? Many MS based applications are not available on Linux. Is there an emulator in the loop? Have you heard of pcBSD?
