Band In A Box - Drums Help

Post by Gary Shepherd »

I've edited a .sty file from Band In A Box. It has only 2 drum patterns.

Both patterns have a triplet feel like Floyd Cramer's Last Date but the B pattern uses the snare drum and the A pattern hits the rim shot (which is actually a side stick but that's a whole other matter.)

The problem is that on the last measure in a B section, the A pattern is used, even if the next part is another B section. E set the weight of both patterns to be 9 - always play but that doesn't fix the problem.

Is there something I'm missing?

I've used Band In A Box a lot (less so in the last few years) but I've never really gotten into the whole style-making thing. I tried it a few times but didn't get anything that I thought was better than the stock styles - which I think are very cheesy at best: The drummer is always playing too much, same with the bass. The piano player never just hits chords. Everyone in "the band" is always trying to play fills. They need to just play chords and quit "showing off".

Anyways, can someone help with the drum pattern switching issue?
