Way back in 1944 when I was just 10 years old I fell in love with that sound. I didn't know who it was, but I just had to learn to play and express that wonderul sound. I will always have a special place in my memories for his inspiration and talent.
He has influencd so many lives it is unmeasurable.

Terry, Thanks for posting! Great way to start the day! What a grateful individual. Very inspiring.
I saw Jerry Byrd in the 70s at one of Scottys Conventions. Jerry changed my entire outlook on steel guitar. No extras, just a man, guitar and amp. Most incredible thing I ever heard. Absolutely beautiful music!
I posted over on the Emmons thread about Buddy being one of tha rare individuals that found his TRUE purpose in life, Jerry is another rare individual.
