Cant click on link.

Post by Dale Gray »

On some emails I am unable to click on a link in the notice. The cursor doesn't change to a hand either. Restored back 2 weeks and that didn;t help either, any ideas?

Can you give us some more details about the links that are un-clickable?

If you mouse-over them do you see the link URL in the statusbar?

What type of messages are they: regular expected mail, newsletters, or spam?

Are they all from the same sender? If so, what ISP are they sending from?

What email client are you using to view these messages?

Have you tried reading these messages on another computer, to see if the links are clickable?

What is your computer's operating system and service pack level?

When did this begin?

These emails were expected,and from 2 different senders, and viewing these with IE7 XP home and s/p 2. I went to these company's web sites and was able to click on the links in their ads.

Dale, are you saying that you read your email in your browser? Have you installed any security applications lately that might scan web pages you are viewing?

No I didn't read email in browser, just responded to a ad that was in a email.

Dale;
I believe I have finally received the Macy's email blast you forwarded to me. All of the links I can see are clickable in Windows Live Mail, including text and banner links. I don't do webmail, so I can't speak for the clickability of this email blast in a browser. But, it works fine in a desktop email client, like Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail.
