Windows Updates released on November 13, 2007

I almost forgot to post about this. Microsoft has released a minimum of two updates through the Windows Updates mechanisms. One is to patch a critical vulnerability in how certain URLs are handled by Internet and Windows Explorer, while the other is an update to the Malicious Software Removal Tool. If you also have MS Office products installed you will receive at least two critical updates for those products. One of the machines I updated today took 5 updates, while others only got two, or four. It depends on the OS and installed software.

If you have Automatic Updates turned on your computer should have already installed these updates and rebooted itself. If they are turned off you will need to fetch them via manual Windows or Microsoft Updates, through your IE browser.
