You would want to "rip" the song. "Ripping" is the process of converting a song on a CD to mp3 format. One way to do this is with Windows Media Player. You can see the Rip command up at the top of the screen when you are in Windows Media Player. Directly beneath the rip command is a small arrow that you can click on and access all the ripping parameters such as format type, ripping location, and other options. Once you rip the song to a mp3 format you can then email the mp3 file.

The question is ambiguous.
If it's a .wav, .wmv, .mp3, or any of the numerous formats audio files can be, all you have to do is select the menu option in your email client to "attach" the file to the email, then browse your computer to select the file you want to "attach", same as you'd do with an image, a document file, or anything else.
If you want to email a song from a music CD, the process is more involved, as the previous responder alluded to. You first have to "rip" the song from the CD as previously described to one of the audio formats, then "attach" it to the email.

Sonny, let me know what version of Media Player you have and I will look at some other machines here at work today and see if I can locate a machine with the same version as your's. Then we should be able to figure out where the rip command is.

Well, I can shed light on the question, since Earl hasn't responded yet.Sonny Jenkins wrote:Hey Earl,,,I just downloaded and installed the 11 ver of windows media player,,,,I now have the the same screen as you indicated. iTunes files are in proprietary formats; Microsoft software doesn't know what to do with them - Bill and Steve don't talk much. I'm not an Apple/iPod/iTunes, etc user, but, someone sent me an audio file with an .m4a extension, and when Media Player wouldn't play it, I had to do the research to find out what it was. Interestingly, my video editing software, Sony Vegas, did play it.
iTunes files come in two file types, apparently. Those with an .m4p extension are DRM-protected, and those with .m4a extension are unprotected AAC files. To be able to play them with Windows Media Player, one must convert them to .mp3 or any of the standard audio file formats WMP understands. Some more detailed discussion of it can be found here.

Woops, sorry I missed your question about the I-tunes library - I don't have an I-pod so I wouldn't have known anyway
