....is there a way to reprogram the F-keys? I would be interested in reprogramming them with textual and numerical information that I am required to type regularly such as my email address, passwords, etc. I have searched my large XP manual to no avail.
If not, is a different solution?

Upon a short search I found that some Logitech keyboards have programmable F keys, using the software that ships with them. You can visit the Logitech website and read the specifications for their various keyboards to see which one fits your requirements.

That is correct. Keyboard keys are preset to issue specific ANSI codes for each position or shift/position. It requires custom written software to alter those codes for custom uses. I think you will be able to reprogram the Logitech F keys as you wanted to do, but only if you install the keyboard configuration driver and application. Otherwise, the keyboard will only issue standard ANSI codes.Leroy Riggs wrote:Thanks, I didn't realize that it might be manufacturer-specific.

BTW: Your post was not off topic. Your questions on this section of the SGF need only relate to computers, online security, or software issues. There is no requirement for them to be steel guitar or music specific, although many are.
