Ray was a classic, always eager to help out. The guy had stories! Frank you all sounded so great, Ray was a contender.

Great playing by everyone. You sounded mighty fine Frank.

I met Ray when I first attended the SWSGA show 15 or so years ago. He introduced himself and treated me like a long lost brother from the start. I always enjoyed hanging with him, having him sing on my set, and hear him with others. The event is not the same without him. He was never at a loss for words except one year when he got laryngitis.

If you can still find Ray’s CD, it is fantastic. It has John Hughey on it and Ray said he told John to just play everything he wanted…and he did. :)

Thanks for posting this Frank! I miss Ray too - he brought so much to the SWSGA and seemed like an old friend from the first time we spoke with one another.

I didn't know Ray that well, but he always treated me like a old friend, really cool of him. the steel shows aren't the same without him. Nice playing Frank, sounds beautiful
