You Tube Question

Post by Gary L Reed »

Is there a way to take a part of a song on utube and have it looped without having to play the whole song? Apologies for the stupidity!

I don't know if there is a way just using youtube but there is a way.

What I do is download the youtube video using a tool called Airy and then I open it in Transcribe. I can slow it down and loop a section, even change the key very easily.

Great question. I found the Vidami pedal advertised in my facebook feed once and bought one. It's the most used tool in my transcribing kit. It works as a chrome add on, and allows you to loop, slow down in 5 increments down to 20% tempo,(at pitch) and go forward and back in very small increments. It is a pedal that you purchase for around $150. Well worth the investment!

Use YouTube's CLIP tool to loop a section of a video.

Click on the "Clip" icon that appears Below the video.

A box will pop up. Use the slider to select the section of the video you want to loop.

Doug and all: I don't see the CLIP function.

I tried several videos.
I turned off my Adblocker.
All I see is the SHARE function.

What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

If you're using an iPad, you may have to click on the "three little dots" to see more options. A dropdown menu will appear and Clip will be in that menu.

Clip is showing on my computer (iMac) and my iPhone. Not showing on my iPad until I tap on the little dots to expand the choices.

Doug: Thanks for the reply.

I'm using a PC, Dell, Windows 10.
I clicked on the dots.
All I get are:
- Save
- Report

Strange.

You can change the playback speed also. Click on the settings tab, playback speed, and select the speed.

I just did a test. I had the clip function when I was signed in. I signed out and it was gone.
