Russ Hicks
Is Russ still around. I saw Laney on Country Family Reunion and she was billed as Laney Smallwood (?),,,of course, I'm not sure how old the program was. Always liked her singing,,,and Russ was (or is) a monster player!!!

Russ is still kicking around Nashville. He is active in the Nashville Steel Guitar Association. Great guy.

Russ is one of my faves. I've backed him up on piano a few times at the SWSGA show in Phoenix, and it's always been one of the highlights of the weekend for me.
I played with him backing up Leona Williams one year, and his playing was vintage, classic Nashville steel... I loved every minute of it.
He's got a few CD's out...one with all George Strait songs, and his tone is just spectacular.
