I'm not saying don't go to church. But beware the temptation to just leave everything in the hands of the unseen. Your life here is largely governed by YOUR actions and the choices YOU make.

The first step is facing REALITY. Things are not the way you wish them to be, things are not the way they may appear to be, things are the way they REALLY are.* You have certain realities of the situation facing you, and you have certain realities affecting your available choices in a response.

Logic and rational thinking are vitally important to a positive outcome. List each of the issues. "I need another place to live very soon" "I have X dollars to work with" whatever. Write them all down. Then under each one, write down every possible idea on how to deal with it. Just let ideas come into your head no matter how silly or impractical, but write them down. Do this with every item. It's important to list all of them, because sometimes listing something off-the-wall will somehow jog a more practical idea which you might not have come up with otherwise.

Then go through problem by problem and realistically eliminate those things that are obviously not going to work. You need money, and you may have written down "rob a bank", but I'm guessing (and hoping) you won't go that route. But with some thought and determination, you most likely will finish the exercise with at least SOME positive steps you can take to make your life better. Get going on those, and if necessary as things improve you can repeat the exercise for those you still are facing.

There's nothing wrong with accepting help, if you have made a sincere and concerted effort on your own behalf, and continue to do so. Someone with a positive outlook and belief in themself can overcome amazing obstacles. Someone who gives up and leaves their entire life in the hands of others will most often never get out of the same negative cycle.

You have a lot of friends on here - obviously we see many positive attributes in you. Dig in, and show us what you can do - we're pulling for ya! Image

* (No, I did not think that up myself, but over the years I have found it very profound and helpful)
Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun.

Godfrey, I must tell you that you have got your facts wrong.
Prince Charles and Camilla have certainly not divorced and are living a happy life together.

A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

Godfrey,

I don't know anything about the couple's actual status but the article you linked references Globe magazine as the source so yeah, prone to rubbish.

I'm not sitting on my butt doing nothing. I have been looking for rooms, I just don't have the money to get the places. Most don't want a 64 yeard old somewhat disabled person with a low monthly income and bad credit. Hopefully someone will buy my guitar so I can do that. I think I might sell my Carter and amp too. That might get me out of California. But will also put an end to my playing steel guitar.

Anyway, it's time to close this thread. It's gotten too religious and off track.
Carter D10 8p/7k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup, Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112, Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open G slide and regular G tuning guitar) .

Playing for 55 years and still counting.
