saw some posts today that tony joe white had passed. family said a heart attack at home. always liked his music and songs.

Arghh! I was hoping when the rumors started yesterday that it was a mistake, but it looks like it's real. One of the finest ever, he was sort of my gateway drug to country music. People talk about authenticity, he had it in spades.

I do his stuff a lot. When I tell people who wrote 'em, they almost always say, incredulously, "You mean that guy that did Polk Salad Annie?" RIP Tony Joe.

was really shocked to hear about this. He had just made his Opry debut and sounded amazing as well as released a new album which from what I've heard is really good. He certainly had a unique style.
