"Last Of The Breed"

Post by Chris Templeton »

I haven't listened to "The Last Of The Breed" record with Merle, Willie, Ray & Buddy for a while and lately it's been getting a lot of airplay in the car.
They must have had such a great recording this! Don't let it gather much dust!

I will do that Chris, I was lucky to see them on the tour at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. Great show, and I have the CD, so it will play again.

Missed you this weekend at the PSGA show, hopefully you can attend next year.

What a record, Craig. We had such a great time last year. I am settling into my new place and making it down there wasn't good with my timing.
I especially missed being able to hang out with Lucky.
I spoke with John Brabandt and he said he took Buddy Cage out to eat. He also said Buddy lives alone. When I heard that, I immediately thought of Joaquin Murphy and Chas Smith. Maybe that's what happens when you really catch the steel bug. I look forward to next year.
My favorite November song for you, Craig (Hag content):

Thanks Chris, always seems to be another great Hag song I didn't know about, but love.

Got to talk with Lucky quite a bit, he is such a nice guy, one of my heros.

Hope you are settling down and can make it next year, you were missed.

Buck showed me the gift you sent him, and I'd say that was such a great gesture on your part, he really loves it and appreciates your graciousness.

Hope to see you soon friend! Craig

I have it on DVD and that steel player with Asleep at the wheel on that old fender steel is tough.

Eddie Rivers, and he plays a great trumpet too, or is it a trombone?

I don't know about the horn, but he has a Sho-Bud pedal steel and he is just as good on that.
I don't like horns too much.
I have played in a band with a Sax.

Paul, I'm sorry, Eddie plays Sax, usually he breaks it out on a few songs with The Wheel.

He's a great musician!
Regards, Craig
