Carter Pickup sound files

Post by Fred Rushing »

At one time Carter had a link to let you compare pickup sound files. It doesn"t seem to be on the web anymore. Does anyone have the file downloaded and could send it to me? Thanks

Very nice Jon!

The files I have are a bit older I think, with the BL610, BL710, GL TPP, etc. 16 files in total.

I uploaded the files to my Box account. Anyone who's interested can download them from there.

Marco -- yes, I remember that original series of files. That was good. Wasn't the clip that Billy Phelps played A Way To Survive ?

When I compiled these, I think I looked for those and couldn't find them.

I especially remember them because I already had my Carter with the TPP I had specified. Then when John published that series of clips, I listened to them and chose the TPP in a blindfold test and felt cool.

BTW, for some reason, when I open the Soundcloud link, sometimes it loads with only 5 clips, sometimes more. There should be Tonealigner and Wallace pickups at the end of the list.

I also liked the TPP the most, though many seem to feel different about them....

It had problems, the biggest of which was that mine (and it seemed that many others had the same experience) was very microphonic. It bothered me enough that I ditched it. Tried a few pickups and ended up with the BL XR16 which is a very good pairing with a Carter.
