Song converting software???

Post by Harold Bullard »

Is there a computer software out there that you can play a song from a CD through it and it'll spit out the chord progression?

Winamp does. You can find it on the net.

With Band in a box you can import mp3's, wav files or midi files and the built in chord wizard will do that.

Winston,

Please point us in the right direction to this plug-in.

BUT - how accurate are the chord progressions? Do they catch those passing chords and hold-a-chord-bass-walk-down [or up]?

I'm curious, man.

Thanks.

I too, am curious. I have Winamp 5.56 and have found no plug-ins via the winamp site that will convert songs to chord progressions when played thru it.

I would greatly appreciate some guidance too :D

Thanks

I guessing that it's Easy Chord Plugin that he means

I haven't tried it myself but there is an online version where you can try it.

The plugin is not free, but there is a 15 day trial...

Winston,

That looks very cool. But is it a Winamp Plug-in, or as Anders mentioned, Easy Chord Plug-in?

The image shows Easy Chord Plugin!

I have tried it and I'm not impressed. BIAB is clearly a winner!

I have BIAB, too. An old version [11.?]. I don't believe I can even import an MP3 or WAVE file with this version. I've tried.
So that would rule out seeing chords processed as a song was moving along.
