Mike; Sorry I'm so late on this but my computer is still in the shop and I'm on my son's unit right now to answer this. I hope things will go well for you and that you get better really soon. It's hurts when a friend is hurt and looking at this thread, I'd say you have a many friends as a person might want. This reads like a who's who of steel guitar. That should help you get better too !! Image Image Image Image

Best Regards, Paul

Mike,

I just got back from a few days in Las Vegas and was surprized to see this on the forum. I hope you have a good recovery. Get well soon.

Mike called me from the hospital this morning and said the bridge of his nose was broken so bad that they had to put a steel support in there to replace it.His lumbar injury was the result of getting knocked off the bike and landing on his back and will probably heal up with no repercussions. From the sound of things though, the facial injury uglied him up pretty bad and will take a good while to recover from.

Hey Mike,
Look at the bright side! After all that facial surgery, you're bound to be better looking! I'd take those knee levers off that bike if I were you. Keep your chins up!

mike--get well as quickly as you can! i've raced bicycles since 1984, and have broken many bones. messin' up my back last fall is what led me to the pedal steel. get back on line soon (you'll be back on the bike soon, too, i suspect), and keep me in line--and thanks for the update on leon. i enjoy your clarifications and information. take care!!

Mike: After you had called I was ready to come to your gig, but my wife had other plans for us, so I didn't make it. Looks like you didn't make it either. What can I say other than I pray you'll heal quickly and get back to what you love.

Mike,

I have been out of town and offline this week, so I am just now seeing this.

All I can say is that when we did our friendly debating on political and social issues and I suggested that you start using your head, I did not mean face first! Image Image

Get well soon!

Sorry to hear about your accident Mike. I hope your recovery goes well. You should have strapped one of your MSAs to the bike. It would have broke the beam apart before it got to you!

Seriously, I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hello Micheal,
I hope you recover and are able to go on with your music as before. Sometimes bad injuries seem like they never heal, they sometimes bother you for years after. Here's hoping you don't go through a long and drawn out recovery. All the best to you and yours.

Glad you're home and on the mend, Mike. I banged my beezer on a brick window sill a few weeks back. It wasn't broken, but it hurt like a ... I can't imagine taking one like you must have.

Best wishes.
