Jim, prayers for your wife and you. May our Lord comfort and hold you both in His Loving arms.

My church closed it's doors last week. This past Sunday's service was streamed live from the church's Facebook page. I lead an adult Sunday School class and I've now taken to have class on emails to the members. The praise band in which I play can't stream music on Facebook because of licensing issues with the publishers of the contemporary praise music, so we're taking an hiatus.

Because of this I'm spending more time woodshedding on the PSG. Particularly the C6th tuning on which I'm a real hack.

Peace and Grace be with all of you on the Forum and all of your friends and family.

Today I went for a spin in the Morris Traveler. Turns out it's an effective anti-depressant. It gets more smiles to the gallon than any other car.

Mullen, me too. But that's my old MSA Classic. I had a couple of timing issues -- changes that needed 4-hole bellcrsnks instead of 2 -- from the first time I worked on it, when I was even more ignorant than I am now.

I think I've got those straightened out now, and have the feel stop on the D#-D-C# lower working reasonably well. I've also got the E lever better timed, the back legs disassembled and cleaned up so maybe they won't slip, and I'll replace the reversing bits on LKR as soon as the parts get here.

Then I'll try to do a great setup following Mickey Adams's videos, and maybe a little retouching on the wood.

This old MSA has a wonderful sound!

Gotta love the Morris. My first car was a 57 Minor convertible. Paid $25 for it, sold it for $75. Wish I had it back! Still have the shop manual for it somewhere...

I've been keeping busy in this tenth of fifteen days of self-imposed quarantining/sheltering in place by:

* French-polishing the StewMac tenor ukulele kit I've been working on seemingly forever. During the couple hours between padding sessions spent waiting for the shellac to cure and harden, I have been:

* Re-reading several of the books in my fairly extensive collection.

* Selecting and practicing a new selection of cover tunes for an upcoming vanity CD project.

* Spending entirely too much time peering into my computer screen, alternately reading about doom & gloom, plus as much as possible of a lighter and more encouraging note, such as this Forum's archives. Thank you for providing this valuable and entertaining safety valve in these trying times, b0b!

I've been continuing my effort to get my shop back up and running. The past few days, I've built new electronics and set up new drive controller software for my CNC router. I've had my CNC mill up and running with the new controller for awhile, but I only got my bigger machine moved up here a couple of weeks ago. I had built it in my shop in Knoxville, and when you build something in the shop and then try to move it out, sometimes it's bigger than the doorway and you have to take it apart and rebuild it at the new location....Sheesh.

Anyway, I have it back up and running now with better electronics and a lot nicer software to drive it. Woo hoo!

Playing one of my old permanents a lot too. Dang it sounds good.

My good friend and bandmate Bob and I spoke this morning . He asked what I was doing for the two week period ( so called) shutdown.

Ahh, this is easy Bob ! For 1 week I'll probably be asleep anyway, so that gets down to 1 week. I'll practice like I always do, go outside do chores like I always do, relax a bit, like I always do...

so after all is said and done it all adds up to about 8 or 9 hours !

Then as Seinfeld says, after you subtract meals, and showers, some phone conversations etc..its like 2 hours !

Gigs cancelled like everybody else, so I'm...

- Taking a long dog walk every morning
- Pulling weeds
- Doing a long practice every day. Going over Jody Cameron's course (very good). Working on my right hand.
- Re-evaluating my copedent. I changed my pedal 0 to do the half step lower on 5 and 10, with a split with pedal A, "on the floor" a la Travis Toy. I took a lesson with Travis yesterday focusing on how to work with that change. It's given me a lot of stuff to work on and think about - easy augmented chord and whole tone scale runs. I can already see that being a fundamental change to keep on those 2 pedals.

Well, so far today I got this little Artic Cat ATV running that's been sitting for 3 or 4 years.

Also tackled the job of installing a broken band saw tire. That was fun! Put a 12 in. tire on a 14 in. wheel? No way...but yes, it does go on there. Made tougher as it's a wooden one that somebody made in shop class.

Got lots more to do to stay busy. It's 81Â° today, so good day to be outside.
