Dear Jim,

Mr. Bill Rudolph already has the money!! So no barbecue for us. I took a chance and bought a steel from Williams before the chargeback, crazy perhaps, but it all worked out in the end. Maybe I'll sound as slick on the C6 neck as you do one day.

I have been talking with Bill also by email for several weeks. He has answered countless
questions.Always quick to reply and helpful in every way.He also told me he needed to see the set up and we could do the credit card when the time comes.
I sent my order Monday and I can't wait.I think I am in for some of the longest weeks of my life.

Mr.Menke, have you called Ron jr. and thanked him for his assistants, with your credit card co., in getting your money back?? Had it not been for him you would most likely have never seen your money again.. For two thousand dollars, I would have been sitting across Jim Aycoth's desk asking for my guitar or my money, instead of trying to raise a "Following" on the Forum...In all "due respect" to all the builders of fine steel guitars in this country of ours..YOU CAME VERY CLOSE TO HAVING THE BEST PLAYING, BEST SOUNDING GUITAR EVER MADE..AN EMMONS....play well my friend, tom hodgin

Hey Gerald,

I played at Hanks back on St. Patricks day. Was that you playing with Sean Kershaw? Nice job! I wanted to talk to you after the show but our drummer was freaking out cause it started to snow and he was my ride back to CT. I'll have to try and get down there again.

My steel vendor is not necessarily dishonest but he certainly is not a buinessman. Once I purchased my $3200 steel (two months late), it bacame almost impossible to get any help or service from him unless there was a purchase involved--then response is quick. That problem is ongoing three years later.

I suggest strongly that before one purchases a steel, check out the vendor with other people first. Just because they are in business does not necessarily mean they are good at the total picture.

The way I understand it, the other party isn't necessarily involved in the credit card reimbursement. I had a similar type of experience where I purchased a Barbie computer over the net from a Canadian company that filed for bankruptcy about 2 weeks after I ordered it. My credit company explained to me that they will credit my account, charge back the companys bank and they will have to fight it out with the company and it's agent handling the bankruptcy.

Don't know if that's what really took place, but I got my money back without any problem.

I said this before on the forum, ALWAYS try to use your credit card to buy stuff or for deposits. That way, you have some help in recovering your bucks if the company goes under.

Please close this thread, oh kind moderator. No matter what Tom says, hell will freeze over twice before I thank the bumpkins at Emmons for anything.

Gerald, like I said, Ron PROBABLY didn't have anything to do with you receiving your money back. That is one of the benefits of using a credit card.
