I've posted before about Don Helms and myself talking about how much Leon had influenced both of us and helped us. I now recall while working a club one night with a singer from Nashville, that an ASCAP man came in just as we finished SGR and said I was infringing on their rights or something by playing that song of Leon's who had shown me how to play it himself. He also told me the story that you are reading here.

I told the guy that since Leon hadn't written the song himself he'd have to go way out on a rope to prove I stole it from Leon.
I always thought Leon had given it to me and the Steel Guitar World in general because it was a Steel Guitar Anthem of sorts. At any rate nothing ever came of it...... Image Image Image
