Thanks, Gary. I still remember that nite...great concert by both bands. It's so nice to skip the Spandex and the fireworks and just have bands come out and play great music. Pam's line introducing the band made me smile, "I'd like to introduce y'all to the best band I can afford!"

Jay Dee Maness played on the first Highway 101 self entitled record called
Highway 101 that came out in 1987. To my ear he was very influential in shaping The bands sound as the steel playing on that record was flawless. It was the only 101 record that he played on that I’m aware of!

Agreed Al!…it was like Fleetwood Mac with pedal steel! JayDee blazed a new path as he did for The Dessert Rose Band. That playing is timeless!
I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.
I received my education, drivin through the Nation listenin to Paul!.. ( Franklin that is! )
