Very well said Paul. The way we learned years ago was a different place and time. It worked for us, but that was long ago. You are on the right page for sure with the new players. What works for them probably would not have worked for us. The right hand can learn what ever you teach it. For me only, my string attack would have to change. For a young player learning without picks they would know no other way. Sharon, Keep up the great work and you have a great teacher with Mr. Paul. Have a great one!!!

.
First.....congrats to Sharon.
She is turning into an excellent player.
In 10 years or so she is going to be a monster.
Second, a thank you to Mr. Franklin for his defense and explanation of not using picks.
I finger picked acoustic guitar for decades.
I have nails of steel and I like the sound they produce not to mention
it give me a feeling of being 'connected' to my guitars.
My teacher told me that as long as music comes out I was doing it right.
Different strokes and all that.
I don't care if anyone doesn't approve of me not using picks.
They are just jealous because I am so much better looking than they are.

I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying.
