I saw one similar to this, may have been the same one it looked to have a circular logo in the middle of the front apron. A closer look it said "Hughey". Later learned at one time he and John Hughey built a few models. This one was a red finished, no transparent finish. This was at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK about 50 years ago.

Thanks John! I have been wondering about that guitar for many years just never got around to asking.

You are welcome, it had 8 strings, 4 pedals in the center of the cabinet, no knee levers and he did in fact operate the volume control with his right pinky finger. Faster than "greased lightening" and would play anything Conway threw at him. He used a Fender Twin Reverb.

I have been told by a friend that new Lew that his pedal set up so that he played with them down and would let off of them to get the sound we do when we push down. Does that make any sense. Lew would never let my friend look at his guitar underneath let alone set down at it when they were playing shows at the Sooner Ballroom in OKC, (Midwest City). And yes, Lew was a very great picker with his own style. J.R.

Sonny Curtis (RIP), also lowered into E9th from A. He often commented "I play backwards" you sure could not tell it listening to him. This type set up, I am told is very uncommon.
