What a sad day this is.

Maurice was my teacher, my mentor, and my friend. He will be so missed.

A very sad thing to read first thing this morning.

Reece was a dear friend, mentor, and a Masonic Brother. He's now with the Supreme Architect of the Universe, and his physical problems are passed and gone.

I'm so sorry to hear this. When I first started playing the steel, I wanted an MSA more then anything. I heard Maurice playing on a live Johnny Gimble album called "Live At The Chaparral". Maurice took off on a lead and Johnny called out "Maurice Anderson.....MSA"! I thought, what the heck is that? SO, I called Scotty and asked him if he had Maurice' address. Of course, he did. I wrote to Reece and was sad to discover at the time that MSA was no longer building guitars. But, from that point on, we remained Pen Pals of sorts. I did an interview with him that appeared in the first issue of Steel Guitar World Magazine.

We shared some of the biggest events of our lives including my first Daughter being born at almost the same time as his Granddaughter being born. He shared all kinds of funny stories about his years of playing with different artists. He was just a great guy, player, family man, and proud and acting Christian. Thanks for everything Reece. You will be missed

I woke up at 4 am this morning with Mr. Anderson on my heart and finally finished a project we had been discussing. I will forever cherish the last few years we spent together at our "meeting of the minds." I'm thankful for a man of his stature, who would take someone like me with no musical background, and share his love of music. I'm also thankful for his testimony and the example he set. I am forever indebted to Reece and Teresa for sharing their home with me. I love you both!

If my memory serves me right Reece was one of the 1st steel player to play at Scotty's Conv shows. He certainly left his mark on the steel guitar. He will be missed.

I'm so sadden by this news, Maurice was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed, I was honored to spend time with Him in there home, were he gave me my first steel guitar lesson, I'm very humbled to have know him, may God bless and comfort the family.

So sad to hear of the passing of Reece....he was my mentor in the early 70's, after driving down to Dallas and spending 7 months with him...he taught me so much ..a true gentleman and great player....we will miss you Reece...RIP....prayers and thoughts to the family....
