If you're getting fast page loads, I guess it's not on the server end. I just refreshed the index page and it took over a minute to complete.
I saw "waiting for bb.steelguitarforum.com" for about 20 seconds, "transferring data from bb.steelguitarforum.com" for about 15 seconds, "waiting for paypal.com" for about 15 seconds, then "transferring data from bb.steelguitarforum.com" for about another 20 seconds. During that time ping was 91ms and tracert was 69ms.

The PayPal thing is just to get the "donate" button image (https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donate_SM.gif). It shouldn't take 15 seconds, and it should be cached by your browser after the first load.
I'm wondering if this is a security setting in your browser. Can you try a different browser on the same computer?

I'm using Firefox 3.07, and haven't used Internet Explorer for years. I do get the same slow load or refresh once in a blue moon on other forums.
It's been much more frequent here since the server upgrade, so I'm curious if other Firefox users are seeing the same thing, or if not, what their settings are.
