Wiz,
"show hidden files" was checked. "hide extensions for unknown files" was unchecked, and "hide protected operating system files" was checked, but I unchecked it.
All to no avail.
John, that Adobe uninstall download says it wants to download the current AFP (10.+). I tried that in the past, and it did not eliminate #9. I even emailed Adobe (big joke here) to tell them about this, but they never responded.
I've been livin' with it. It just sits there, nuisancely. I just don't see how a top-scanner like Secunia has a bead on it, and it's not there.
Like the song says, "She's Not There".

Chip;
Please download and install the Secunia Personal Software Inspector, then scan from your hard drive.
This will require you to install (and possibly also run) the program using "Run As Administrator."

A glitch then. A sad memory of software gone bye bye, but not forgotten. CRS has set in to the PSI. It is an ex-parrot!
Or, maybe that file still does exist at the specified location, but in an alternate data stream. This is like a parallel universe. It's the same thing but different.
Chip. Did you know that deleted files are not really gone from your hard drive unless they are totally overwritten with new data? The process of "deleting" a file removes its first letter and substitutes it with a $, then it is pulled from the general file index. The file is still there, beginning with $name.ext, but becomes invisible to you, because the entry for it was removed from the DIR index. Some programs can see deleted files and some can even recover them (undelete).

Yeah Wiz,
I'm at least aware that 'nothing' is really removed from your HDD. You just explained it better.
So anyway, on the sunnier side of the street, is that ole' #9 that much to worry over?
The 'threat rating' as Secunia refers to it is with a 5-section color bar (you already know this, though).
So the 5 colors on #9's bar are from left to right: 2 greens; 1 yellow; 1 yellow/orange; and a light blue-gray or maybe just gray (hard to tell on that one).
There's no key to compare it to, so who's to know what the colors really tell ya. doh.
