When you create, or edit a scheduled backup job, there is a tab for advanced backup options. In that area there is a "Priority" options box. I recommend setting the backup to Low, or Lower priority. This makes Acronis less intense on system resources.

Sometimes, when other processes interfere with the backup - you may need to raise the priority to Normal, or even High. This definitely interferes with other activities, but makes for a more accurate backup image.

I just did a full backup and validate and was listening to some music and reading the Forum - but not for a long time; the rest of the B&V time I didn't do anything on the PC. Left it be.

Both B&V results came out as SUCCESSFUL.

And on K:drive, only Backup was listed, and not Validate - as I mentioned previously, that it was.

And when I began this backup, a red banner said that the last backup of 11/2/08 was unsuccessful.

This backup/validate did not show "completed, but with errors."

Wiz, heard anything about a potential fix for the "Trial Version" problem in 2009? I never heard from Acronis Tech Support - not even an acknowledgement, I think I'll put in another report.

Jack;
I have the Acronis Forums open at all times. I refreshed the view and there is nothing new regarding this issue. Apparently, it is only affecting a few people who are posting about it. Most were able to solve it using the solutions I posted earlier. I will contact you as soon as I learn about any new fixes or workarounds.

ITMT, continue using ATI11. Please start a new topic on the Acronis Forum, listing as many details about your computer and the issues with ATI 12 as you can think of. Hopefully, Marat Setdikov will see it and reply. He is in a a position to fast track issues posted on the Forums.

Are you using the latest build: 9615 ?

TI 2009 Build 9646 released

Post by Wiz Feinberg »

I just learned today that Acronis has released TI 2009 Build 9646 to registered users. There are some new features added, some improvements and lots of bug fixes. If you have purchased ATI 2009 please go to www.acronis.com and login to your account. Look for your registered products and available updates and you should see a link to download Build 9646.

The release notes are on this page. There is an active discussion about build 9646 on the official Acronis True Image forum.

I have read the release notes and haven't seen anything specifically mentioning the validation key issue that Jack has experienced, but there is a good chance it was fixed in this new build. If you have purchased True Image 2009, download the upgrade and install it over the existing version. Let me know if any of your problems with the program are resolved by upgrading to Build 9646.
